“The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’ ‘The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it.” Catechism of the Catholic Church #1324
As Catholics, we believe the Eucharist is the real presence of Jesus Christ. Bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ through the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised to His disciples. The Eucharist is our spiritual food which provides strength for our journey. If you or your loved one is homebound, in a nursing home, or in the hospital and would like to receive Communion, please contact the Parish Office at (586) 777-9116.
Formation for the reception of the Eucharist for children begins in the first grade. If you want more information about preparing your child for their First Eucharist, please contact Jan Pazuchowski in the Faith Formation Office at (586) 777-9116 #5.
Baptized adults who have never received the Eucharist and wish to do so are to be enrolled in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). For more information about the RCIA, contact Ellen Olivier, RCIA Coordinator, at (586) 218-9211, or please visit the parish RCIA webpage.
